Adorable mini Minion pencil toppers that will be sure to send you to the head of the class in just a few quick and easy steps.
Materials
🍌1 x Bag of these things from Restore for $1.00. (Not 100% sure what they are but they had a ton of potential and you get about 200 for $1) They are kind of like the flexible plastic caps for the ends of wire shelving just yellow and much larger. You will need a total of 2 caps per Minion.
🍌Pencil
🍌Black permanent marker
🍌Silver permanent marker or paint pen
🍌Blue fine tip permanent marker
🍌Yellow wire
🍌1x roll denim blue colored 3/8 inch wide ribbon
🍌Extra Small wiggly eyes
🍌All purpose adhesive or Hot Glue
1. Place cap on top of Pencil
2. Use a black permanent marker to make a stripe around cap. (This will be the band for the goggles)
3. Draw mouth
4. Use a silver paint pen or permanent marker to paint1 circle for one eyeball or 2 adjacent circles for 2 eyes in center of your line. Remove cap from pencil top.
5. Cut yellow wire approx 3 inch long and fold in half.
*Tip~ If you have trouble finding yellow wire or just to save some money. Look for 4 wire 22 AWG telephone wire at your local ReStore. Inside the white casing of this wire is 4 smaller wires typically Black, Blue, Red, and Yellow. Pictured below
5. Place a pea sized amount of all purpose adhesive glue inside of cap. This is my personal choice in glue but hot glue or any other plastic adhesive will work as well.
6. Place wire inside of cap with glue
7. Place 2nd unmarked cap on top of pencil. Hold cap with glue in one hand and use pencil to push 2nd cap evenly into the other cap. Leave approximately 3/8 inch reveal on bottom cap.
8. Bend wires up as shown above.
9. Use glue to adhere and wrap ribbon around bottom of caps and cut.
*You'll want the top edge of your ribbon to fall slightly above the seam where the 2 caps are joined together.
10. Adhere eyes. Color hair, gloves, and boots on with black permanent marker and add detail with fine tip marker.
This little guy is definitely one in a minion!
Until Next Time!
Andrea
